Open conversation with the curators of the 35th Bienal

The curatorial collective of the 35th Bienal de São Paulo – choreographies of the impossible, composed of Diane Lima, Grada Kilomba, Hélio Menezes and Manuel Borja-Villel, will be reunited on the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion on April 27, 2023, at 7pm, for a first open conversation about this year’s edition of the show.

The discussion will present the process of conception and curatorship of the 35th Bienal, besides the main ideas and concepts that will be addressed at the exhibition. Altogether, the first list of artists, the educational project, the visual identity and the curatorial advisors of the edition will also be released on the day.

Titled choreographies of the impossible, the 35th Bienal de São Paulo’s purpose is to explore the possibilities of movement and transformation on the contemporary world. During the open conversation, the curators will present the main questions that will be dealt with on the show, such as: how do bodies in movement are able to choreograph the possible, in the impossible? If these practices produce ruptures in the spaces they belong, when they are here altogether, what do they create? What conssensus and dissents the choreographies of the impossible, when in dialogue in space, allow us to get in? How to deal with the contradictions and challenges of the contemporary world? For the curators, these answers are an invitation to a dialogue.

The admission is free and subject to the capacity of 100 people.
