Thematic visits with the Bienal education team

On November 25, there will be a series of thematic visits proposed by Bienal’s education team, wich consists in tours of the exhibition with specific focuses developed by the mediation team based on the research and interests that emerged during the training course.

Go to the Mediation Space (green floor), near the entrance to the exhibition, to register 1 hour before the start of the visit. Subject to capacity (group of up to 20 people).

Duration: 2h

November 25 (Saturday), 11am
“The daughter who becomes her mother’s ancestor” – The beauty of a choir
mediation: Regiane Ishii

Based on the phrase and work of Aline Motta in A água é uma máquina do tempo (Water is a time machine), we will follow the curvilinear temporalities that occur in the experiences between daughters, grandmothers and mothers present in works from the 35th Bienal. Going through projects dedicated to investigating being a daughter and revisiting their ancestors, we propose to approach mothering as one of the politics of movement that make up the choreographies of the impossible. Permeated by the thoughts and works of Leda Maria Martins and Rosana Paulino, in the first and second movements of the 35th Bienal’s educational publication, we will approach these artistic practices as spaces and times of perception that challenge the rigid linearity of Western time and racial, class and gender exclusions.

November 25th (Saturday), 3pm
Erês – A choreography that begins in the imagination
mediation: Pietra de Ofa Cunha Serra

mediated visit for children up to 9 years old accompanied by their adults or caregivers with babies on their laps

The visit invites children and their caregivers to use their imagination in a choreography of possibilities with artists such as Carlos Bunga, Denilson Baniwa and Rosana Paulino. Based on the doctrines of Tambor de Mina and the musicalities of the Bumba meu boi festival, the body will be the pathway to dance poetics and sounds inscribed in São Luís do Maranhão.
