Sauna Lésbica – Learning to listen – Ellen Oléria, mediated by Danielle Almeida

On Saturday, December 9, the panel Learning to Listen will be held with Ellen Oléria and mediation by Danielle Almeida, as part of the public program of the Sauna Lésbica at the 35th Bienal de São Paulo.

The guest will give us a selection of songs, sound fragments or instrumentals selected especially for this moment, presented from her experiences, affections and/or from a historical-musical and/or political point of view. The series is the brainchild of art activist and educator Danielle Almeida and art philosopher and curator Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz.

Danielle Almeida is an anti-racist activist, singer and educator. She runs Diaspórica Consultoria para Inclusão da Diversidade and is a guest lecturer in the Independent Studies Program at the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art.

Ellen Oléria is a Brazilian singer-songwriter. With a career spanning over 22 years, she has won awards at festivals and released four albums. She has performed in cities from north to south of Brazil and in other countries such as Spain, France, Angola, the United States, England, Russia, Japan and Taiwan. In her most recent work, the album re.trato, Ellen Oléria creates a romantic atmosphere with intimate ballads that mix soul, R&B and Brazilian jazz influences, always talking about love, whether it’s romantic love, brotherly love or love for life.
