Performance – DENDORÍ Series of performances by and with Ricardo Aleixo – A year among humans

On October 28, will take place at 35th Bienal de São Paulo the peformance A year among humans, which integrates DENDORÍ – Series of performances by and with Ricardo Aleixo. It consists on a new version of the performance that premiered in Coimbra, Portugal, in 2004, and which in the following years was staged in various Brazilian cities, in Paris, France (2005), Providence and New York, United States (2007). The text that gives the performance its name, written in 1999 and published for the first time in the book Trívio (2001), highlights and criticizes the selectivity of hegemonic notions of humanism, with their unequivocal and lethal “white-centric” orientation.
